Welcome To Guineapigs.com!
This site is all about guinea pigs. All the different sizes, shapes, colors, breeds, and varieties of them. I decided to start this site because I have a guinea pig of my own. Her name is Patchy. She is 3 years old and has colors of white, blonde, and Agouti fur on her. I hope you enjoy it! |
The Guinea Pig
Guinea pigs are part of the rodent family. They come in all kinds of varieties, colors, shapes, and sizes. Guinea pigs are fat and have short legs. They have no tail and have many different colors of fur. They eat vegetables and fruits, but not meat, because they are herbivores. Some foods you can feed them are lettuce (green leaf or Romaine), parsley, swiss chard, oranges (guinea pigs need lots of vitamin C), apples, celery, and carrots. they also eat dry guinea pig food, and can have vegetable flavored dog biscuits. There are vitamin C drops that you can put in their water. Vitamin C is important for guinea pigs, because if they don't get enough, they can get an illness called scurvy. |
